Leather
At Santoir, we take pride in ethically sourcing our leather, which comes from Spanish calves raised to the highest European standards as a byproduct of the meat industry. Recognizing the environmental impact of leather tanning, we have carefully selected Curtidos Badía, the most prestigious Spanish tannery located in Igualada, that is certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG) and adhere to stringent environmental criteria, ensuring minimal water and energy consumption while reducing hazardous substances.
The production of our leather preserves the traditional tanning system that gives it a natural appearance, updated with current environmentally friendly methods.
When properly cared for, our leather can last a lifetime, significantly reducing waste by promoting high-quality, durable products over disposable fashion.
Hardware
Our commitment to sustainability extends to the smallest details, such as our hardware crafted from solid brass with an 18k gold finish. While brass production does have environmental impacts, its long-term footprint is lower due to being less energy-intensive than other materials and being infinitely recyclable. We exclusively use lead-free and nickel-free brass, ensuring environmental safety. Its durability ensures that our hardware will remain functional and valuable for years to come.
Linings
Our linings are crafted from luxurious velvet microfiber, meticulously produced in Spain by a renowned manufacturer known for their commitment to high-quality fabrics using sustainable methods. Despite being synthetic, this material is exceptionally durable, washable, and maintains its quality over time. Our linings adhere to stringent environmental standards, ensuring they contribute positively to the overall sustainability of our products.
